Residence time distribution (RTD) of the flow reactor is obtained by injecting a tracer sample at inlet and measuring the exit concentration at various times. The adjacent figure shows the residence time distribution for the above flow reactor. It shows the effect of internal circulations on RTD. Similarly we can simulate any flow reactor to obtain RTD
